Chapter Text

The plaza fell silent as the giant cobra eyed them all like prey, its gaze piercing and dangerous yet dismissive. There wasn't a hint of recognition in its gaze when it looked at the students or All Might, as this wasn't Izuku in control anymore. "Okay, I'm totally lost. When could Midoriya do that?" Tetsutetsu yelled as he and Honenuki hadn't seen him fall, but they had never seen him pull this out. Could he have done this during class?

Shishida couldn't believe his eyes; his jaw was slack as he tried to process this, like Shiozaki, who wondered if this was what the serpent looked like. "He…he shouldn't be moving; he was at death's door mere moments ago."

Honenuki looked their way, as that was news to him. “What?” Before Shishida could even begin to explain this, Shigaraki blew a casket.

“What the hell is this?!” He yelled in a fury, pointing to the brat that cosplayed as the result of when a snake f*cked a volcano, that same brat that nearly killed him with that last attack. The same f*cking brat that messed up his plans and actually posed a threat to Nomu, which wasn't regenerating as fast anymore because of the flames damaging its cells, slowing its super regeneration! “That’s it, I’m sick of these stupid surprise bosses, Nomu, kill it!”

Braindead it might have been, but a part of it could still feel the pain of its limbs being turned to ash nearly instantly, and that, along with the built-in command to obey, compelled the Nomu forward faster than before as All Might saw that even transformed into this supercharged state, that Midoriya wasn't reacting to it. “Young Midoriya-!” The Nomu's punch shattered through the stone-scaled hide, which was much thinner than it should have been, thanks to Midoriya's reserves being incredibly low.

However, instead of blood or even the transformed boy reacting to this breech in their armour, the Nomu was met by an explosion of emerald lava which covered its arm and chest, burning through its muscle to the bone as it retracted the badly damaged limb, screaming as its regeneration was again hampered thanks to the fact the lava was still covering it, still burning.

Nomu, not deterred, struck with its other arm only to meet the same result. The snake's tail whipped forward, smacking it away as the profusely bleeding wounds on the cobra's side started to heal, unknown to them. The scales didn't reform much as the attached ones stretched to cover. Midoriya's quirk knew it didn't have the energy to waste doing a proper repair.

“His body, it’s a volcano so breaking its shell,” All Might realised, as that must have been why he was covered with volcanos, it wasn't for style or intimidation, but as vents. Midoriya didn't let the Nomu off the hook as he lunged for it; the Nomu tried to dodge but was weighed down by the still-burning lava digging into its flesh. As a result, Midoriya was able to clamp down on its arm, biting the limb clean off before horrifically swallowing the limb.

This served the Nomu, as with the damaged limb gone, a new one could regenerate in its place, which he used to swipe at Midoriya's tail, but he was learning as his tail bent over the swipe to grab the Nomu by the neck, tossing the creature into air, catching it in his jaws, it's torso and upper body inside its sweltering mouth before he bit down hard to keep the Nomu in place, even as it struggled, throwing its arms all over the place inside, it legs limp thanks to the spinal damage from Midoriya's bite.

Then they heard it again; the air was being sucked in via its intakes, it being so loud that All Might compared it to hearing the fan of a jet engine starting him as Midoriya's large, serpent eyes seemed to burn brighter. With the Nomu locked in place, Midoriya unleashed a fireball within the confines of his mouth, heat and smoke escaping in jets before he spat out the charred and burnt creature onto the ground. And to add insult to injury, Midoriya started to bash the slowly recovering Nomu into the ground with his tail, each hit burying the beast deeper into the earth.

The Nomu, still covered with severe burns and partially blind before the point-blank fireball, wasn't taking damage; however, because of its shock absorption, and once its spine was repaired, it took advantage of the time between swings to attack, punching Midoriya right in the chin, his head was knocked back so hard that scales cracked before crashing into the ground with the Nomu jumping onto him to try and capitalise on this and do as it was told. Still, its attacks only opened more holes, which blasted out lava, so it tried to bleed the snake out.

Midoriya let out a pained, furious hiss as his tail whipped around and grabbed the Nomu, wrapping around it and using its heat to damage its body enough to keep it from breaking out. Getting him, his body repaired the damage, but it was taking a toll as its skin was thinner and weaker than ever. While massive, this was a severely undersized form, to begin with, so the quirk-driven construct decided that it needed to eat this, firstly by throwing the Nomu as hard as it could towards the water zone, the creature bouncing across the pavement before crashing into the shallows with a big splash.

Tambora didn't care if the damned beast didn't drown. That wasn't the plan as they prepped to blast this thing straight to hell. Now, when they drew in air, it was through their mouth as well, the sound akin to a multi-engine jet powering up; it was loud. Shigaraki, who along with Kurogiri had just watched the fight up till now, saw how the heat pulsed around the damned kid, heat building within them, and he knew then and there that if that hit Nomu, there wouldn't be a Nomu left!

"Kurogiri!" He yelled right as Tambora unleashed a dragon made of flames, easily 6 times the size of what Izuku used earlier in the conflagration zone. Just being in the area of it felt like they were all standing next to a bonfire, with the bright emerald flames roaring as they spiralled towards the Nomu, which was only saved at the last second when Kurogiri opened a portal to tank it. The second opening is at the bottom of the flood zone.

Even that measure didn’t leave the Nomu untouched as that kind of heat just appearing surrounded by hundreds of thousands of litres of water meant trouble as within mere seconds, thousands of litres instantly boiled and evaporated, creating a massive steam bubble that only expanding as water in the thousands of litres was evaporated, and that steam was heated even further to the same levels one would find in a coal-burning steam engine.

The end result was one 10th the water of the zone being converted into high-pressure steam, creating an explosion that rocked not just the zone but the entire USJ in a situation similar to when Midoriya's attack was the steam blasted through the watery cap, keeping it in place. Seconds later, the water thrown into the air returned as a mini rainstorm, the area covered in steam. Using his immense power, All Might cleared most of it, allowing him to see the aftermath of that.

Namely, the fact that a trench of melted concrete had been dug in the earth leading to where the Nomu had been, well over 30 inches deep. The flood zone looked like another disaster had hit it, with the water level notably lower than it had been before; the slide near the back was nearly destroyed as parts of it had fallen into the water. The Nomu had been laid out on its back, its body covered not with burns but signs of harsh scald burns all over the body, no doubt from being exposed to what rice went through when it cooked for 30 minutes in the span of just a few seconds.

Hearing stone cracking, All Might turned to the source of this and saw that Midoriya was a shell. His form, which had been a hive of emerald volcanic activity, was now dormant, stone scales cracking and falling off, his once bright eyes dim as it must have used up all he had with that attack, with the last of the steam clearing, his snake head fall to the ground, the side of its jaw that smacked into the ground shattering as the stone lost most of its strength.

“What,” Coughing to clear his lungs, Tetsutetsu asked the question they all wanted the answer to. “What was that?”

“Midoriya!” He turned to the side where Tokage was already at his side. She seemed worried to touch him, knowing that he had been like moments prior, but now he looked closer to a burned-out campfire, a fact she confirmed when she finally placed a hand on his damaged 'head'.

“He’s cold to the touch.” She worried as Honenuki came up, inspecting his frame and seeing it falling apart.

“He must have used up all he had with that?” He guessed before Shiozaki asked a question that hadn’t come up earlier.

“Where’s Koharu?” Now that she asked, the rest noticed the snake's absence. That was answered when the shell close to his supersized snake body cracked, and an emaciated Koharu came out, looking like she hadn't eaten in weeks. Tokage quirked to grab her and place her on her shoulders, where the snake seemed to be half awake. Did she share her power with Izuku? Was that from her doing, or did she merely act as fuel?

As they fussed over their classmate, Shigaraki faced all All Might, who, thanks to Midoriya's efforts, wasn't nearly as hurt as he could have been if he had faced off against Nomu. But his mind was elsewhere, namely to the brat that almost turned him to ash. "Dammit, what in the hell do they teach U.A. brats? If I wanted a trip to a sauna, I'd go to one."

“Master Shigaraki, I was able to save the Nomu from the worst of it, but it still took damage.” Kurogiri sounded ashamed of himself, as he had believed the sheer mass of water would have been enough. Still, the boy proved too strong for that as Shigaraki saw the state of Nomu and how it looked like it could barely stand as its body healed at a snail's base, one of its eyes missing, and parts of its brain looked like boiled white meat!

“The f*ck? That was meant to fight All Might! You mean to tell me some brat did that?!” The hand-covered villain was furious and terrified in some corner of his soul as he looked at where the brat lay, seemingly down for the count. Still, he couldn't reach him like this, even if Kurogiri made an opening for him. He could not decay all that rock before someone tried to stop him, flaky as it looked.

"Master Shigaraki, please calm yourself. Nomu wasn't designed to face a foe with such intense flames," Kurogiri spoke up, but All Might be moved once more, faster than they could see, before they heard a crash and concrete crumbling.

"No, it was designed to face me, right?" All Might asked, having buried the Nomu head first into the ground. He wasn't sure if it would come from extensive wounds, but he wasn't about to give it a chance as he turned his gaze to the villains. "But it won't be doing anything for a long time.” Shigaraki was in a corner here. He was enraged, pissed to the point of seeing red, but he had enough wit to understand that they had lost. Even if Nomu would dig its way out, all those burns were hampering its healing factor.

“You win this round, All Might." He started as Kurogiri created a portal behind them, which they backed into. Still, All Might wouldn't let them escape so quickly as he rushed them. But when he reached to grab onto Shigaraki, he missed as the man seemed to shrink; no, he was falling into the earth thanks to a portal underneath the two. "But when round two starts, we'll be ready." With that, the two vanished, the portal closing beneath them.

The day was won, but All Might didn't feel like they won, not when the masterminds were still loose and some injuries needed to be tended to, speaking of. "Is he alright?" He asked, walking to where his students fretted over the cold construct of their classmate.

"We're not sure. We can't break him out of this." Honenuki tapped it, and while the stone seemed even more fragile now, there was a lot of it.

All Might nodded, taking stock of the situation. There were still villains, but their morale was in the dumps and up against him. They all folded and laid on their stomachs, their hands up in a sign of surrender. "Young Shishida, young Shiozaki, please get Vlad up the stairs. Help should arrive at any moment now. I'll deal with getting young Midoriya out." He told them two, flashing them a smile as if the danger had passed and the situation wasn't nearly as tense.

“Yes, sir.” Both nodded, as they could trust All Might would handle things as they left. All Might turned to the remains of what Midoriya had encased himself in. The boy was clearly spent if he was reduced to this, but he wasn't sure he could punch him out, as for all he knew, this was Midoriya.

Koharu, though incredibly weak, moved as her head pointed towards her friend, letting out a sad-sounding hiss as Tokage looked down at hr. “Wait, she seems concerned.”

"I would assume so; her owner's in there," Honenuki replied, but Tokage's brow creased. It didn't seem like that; she was agitated, extremely so.

“No…it doesn’t seem to just be that,” the snake looked at her before looking towards her tail, wiggling it and then looking back towards Midoriya. Tokage wondered what she was trying to say. She wished that she understood her, but then she seemed to be hyper-fixated on her tail. Hold on. “Wait, All Might, don’t break that shell!”

“Is there an issue?” All Might asked. He wasn't planning on that, but his student seemed extremely against it.

“I think,” Tokage started, looking back at Koharu as she recalled Midoriya's state before he changed. I think that he’s not regrown his legs yet. If you crack it now…” All Might caught up, frowning as he looked back at the massive body that didn't have limbs like any snake.

“Hold on, he made this giant form but didn’t make himself a new pair of legs?” This was news to Tetsutetsu, as how did the guy even lose his legs

?

"I probably wasn't thinking straight, but if we can't get him out, how do we help him then?" Honenuki asked as Tokage recalled something she had heard earlier: where Shiozaki and Midoriya had come from.

"The conflagration zone. He can eat up some flames if we get him over there." At least, she hoped he could. He seemed to embody all things fire, and she recalled from science class that more robust flames could absorb weaker ones; plus, Hebimi seemed to suck in air; why not flames?

“Apologies, everyone, it took some time to gather everyone available, but we're here!" They turned to see the other teachers on the scene, led by the principal who led the charge. They couldn't make out the details, but they could rest easy now as Tetsutetsu fell on his butt.

“Finally.” The boy released his quirk.

“Wait, where did?” Tokage asked when she noticed that All Might had vanished. A dust cloud had been left in his wake before. Just as fast as he had left, he returned with another person.

"All Might, please don't do that again; I'm not built for such speeds," Cementoss asked him, his hands on his knees as All Might had just appeared right as he was heading down the stairs and grabbed him.

"Apologies, Cementoss, but we needed your assistance moving young Midoriya." All Might explained as the cement bender turned to, wait, since when did the boy become a snake? He knew that he was being supported by Ryukyu, but this wasn't what he expected could come from that.

“Will I get an explanation of this?” He asked, as there was a story where he just knew it.

“Later, but could you move him to the conflagration zone?” All Might asked him, pressed for time, which Cementoss picked up on as he knew the man spent considerable time before class doing hero work and that he last saw him resting in the faculty lounge when he was supposed to get ready to teach here.

“That I can do.” Cementoss placed his hand on the ground, and despite the place being covered with charred or melted concrete, it still obeyed him as he created a sort of moving platform underneath the massive 12m long body, shifting it forwards like how a caterpillar would work as he and All Might directed themselves and their unconscious passenger towards their destination, followed by the worried trio

Turning to them, All Might said, “Students, with the rest of the teachers here, why don’t you make your way to the stairs and meet up with the rest? We can handle things from here.” He gave them a thumbs up, happy that they were so worried for their classmate. The danger had passed, and he would feel a lot better if they got themselves checked on while they searched for the rest.

Tokage looked the most worried but eventually bowed to his command. “Okay.” She said as she passed the skinny and exhausted snake to the number one before she left. With the students making their way to the stairs and the rest of the pros Nezu brought along handling the villains that remained in the plaza, the two were free to walk towards the flame zone, Cementoss eyeing the destruction that was around them, most of it caused by intense heat as it was like there had been a series of explosions set up, or starbursts.

“The boy did all this?” He asked his colleague, who kept his lips pressed in thought.

“He did, I haven’t seen such flames since Endeavour, and the Midoriya is still quite young, with plenty of room to grow.” That was the crazy part about quirks, not just his own, but all quirks grew more robust with each new generation. As strong as he was, and he knew he was the strongest, there was always the chance that a naturally occurring quirk, if not several, could match him in power or make him work. It seems that young Midoriya was in that group.

"In more ways than one," Cementoss replied, the two falling silent as they made their way over. They found that the entrance to the zone was left open, and inside, they could still see emerald flames burning here and there, but they were quickly being consumed by the regular flames.

“I would assume he was here at some point?” Cementoss asked, even if he knew the answer. As they walked inside, with the entrance still within view, Cementoss gently ceased using his quirk, but even just settling seemed to damage Midoriya's body.

“What do we do now?” He asked All Might, who wasn't sure himself, but he figured someone was present who might.

“Koharu, is it?” He asked, the snake turning its tired gaze to him. “Could you handle this part?” She nodded as she nodded towards Midoriya, so he walked over and placed her on top of him. Slowly, she burrowed into his form when her tail vanished with the rest of her; there was silence before they heard a weak suction, pulling in some of the flames like he had seen all those months ago. It started out small as flames slid over slowly. Cementoss aided this by shifting the cement underneath the stuff to place it closer. Still, thankfully, as more was absorbed, the furnace within the boy was stroked back to life.

This increased activity granted and demanded more fuel as the boy's jaw fell open, absorbing more of the flames till half the street was bar. The two teachers worried he'd need more, but that seemed enough as he closed his jaws before the entire form cracked and broke apart, revealing a refreshed Koharu and her master. However, Izuku was still as unconscious as he had been this whole time. Cementoss was the closest of the two pros, which meant that he could see that the lad's lower half was as good as new and that he was missing something.

“All Might, why is the boy nude from the waist down?” Cementoss looked away; mercifully, the boy was on his stomach, but he didn't need to see this.

All Might took him at his word and just tore his shirt off, walking towards Midoriya with his eyes closed and placing his shirt over the boy's legs and waist. Opening his eyes, he breathed a sigh of relief that his oversized shirt covered everything. "I'll explain later. I'm running fumes here, but I can still quickly look around to ensure the remaining villains are handled." He didn’t wait for a response as he dashed off, leaving Cementoss with the passed-out boy and his snake.

“Never a dull day at U.A.” Cementoss sighed as he just wrapped the boy in a cocoon of cement before slapping his forehead when he realised he could have done this sooner.

A portal appeared somewhere else in an empty bar as Shigaraki stomped on out. “Goddammit!” He seethed as he grabbed a bar stool, decaying it before throwing it side, reaching for another with what he used to throw at the liquor display cabinet, shattering dozens of bottles in one fell swoop.

Despite that, he was angrier than ever. "What the f*ck, what the f*ck was that? We had them, brought a ton of low-level fodder, and had Nomu, but we still lost! That brat Kentucky fried Nomu and then boiled it like an egg!" He yelled, recalling the state that Nomu had been in, and it was rough. He had seen corpses in better condition than that. All that by the hand of a hero student?! Who in their right mind would want that pyromaniac as a hero?!

"It wasn't just them; all those brats were too strong! They were way over-levelled for that stage. By the time All Might showed up, Nomu barely had a chance to fight him!" He thought of the other problems in the form of brats. There was that steel sh*t that knocked out his teeth, the other in full armour that tried to bury them in f*cking mind, then the bitches with the vines and the detachable limbs. All of them didn't just handle the villains, whom he never had high hopes for, but hoped they'd at least keep them busy. They played a role in Nomu's defeat, and All Might got away after first blood!

As he continued to rage and destroy pieces of the bar that Kurogiri would have to clean up later, the TV in the corner switched to audio only and spoke. “Is that right, Shigaraki?” The person on the other end, much like Kurogiri, was calm in defeat, but Shigaraki was not as he turned to yell at the TV.

"You were wrong, sensei! You said Nomu could kill All Might, but it couldn't even handle one brat!" Kurogiri would worry that he'd try to decay the TV as well but knew that no matter what, Shigaraki would never do such a thing, not when he was speaking.

“Just the one? Interesting, Kurogiri. Tell me about them.” The person didn't ask but demanded as Kurogiri bowed to the TV.

“We didn’t hear a name, but they used a powerful quirk that created and manipulated green flames. They also seemed to have a regeneration and transformation ability which simply overwhelmed Nomu.” He answered, keeping it short.

Another voice, silent till now, spoke up, sounding intrigued. "Green flames, you say?"

“Correct.”

The second voice, not nearly as commanding as the first, hummed under their breath in thought. About what, Kurogiri didn't know now, did he care to know. But the person spoke up. "That is troubling but also an opportunity. By the way, where is Nomu? Did the boy turn it to ash or something?" That was the part that Kurogiri wasn’t so happy about.

"I regret to inform you that I was unable to retrieve him. All Might was pressuring us, and if I hadn't chosen to retreat with Master Shigaraki, we might have been captured as well." He reported as if he had the time, maybe he could have retrieved it, to both allow them to study the effect those flames and the steam explosion had on its body and to deny the heroes the chance to dissect it and figure out how it was made if that was even possible for them.

"It's a Pity we simply didn't prepare enough. We underestimated our opponents, and this was the result." The first voice wrote it off like a spilt glass of milk.

“Still, after all the work we put into making it as strong as All Might.” The second wasn't as willing to let go of it, however.

"If a child could so easily handle it, then perhaps it wasn't as effective as we believed, good doctor. Or maybe it was too specialised, as facing a foe with regeneration and flames wasn’t something we planned for.” The first replied, shutting down the conversation into the matter they all bowed to. Even the still-infuriated Shigaraki stayed his tongue and let the two men on the other line speak.

"It's a good thing we attacked under that cheap 'League of Villains' name. It'll give us time to return to the drawing board." The second voice relented as Shigaraki took the chance to speak.

"Next time, next time, I'll crush them all." The first voice made a noise that was a fusion of amusem*nt, malice, and approval.

"That's right, Tomura. You might have failed now, but you can try again later. Lick your wounds, learn what went wrong, and look at this differently. I can't move freely, but you can become our symbol to rally the underworld." He encouraged his young students. Shigaraki Tomura. Next time, show the world you're the new symbol of fear."

Outside the USJ, the students had been gathered up. They stood to the side, watching as the teachers and the police entered and exited with villains in handcuffs, all loaded into one of the transport buses that had been assembled; the police looked surprised by the fact that they needed so many. As they watched, they exchanged stories of where they were.

Kuroiro explained where he and Kodai had been sent. "It wasn't as harrowing a tale as it could have been; Kodai and I were sent to the ruins and spent our time dodging villains and taking them out with hit-and-run tactics." The quiet girl nodded, as it had been scary. Still, after she dropped the 8th significant, heavy thing on an unsuspecting head, the fear bled away. It was replaced with mild amusem*nt, something that Kuroiro could relate to as he couldn't help himself and made the villains terrified of the shadows.

They weren't the only ones in a pretty easy situation as Kamakiri wrapped an arm around Yanagi's inquisitive shoulders. "Morons sent us to the rain zone, and he tore it up!" She wouldn't have used such words, but it was pretty easy to handle them. She will need to get checked by Recovery Girl later, or else she wake up in the morning with a cold.

"I still can't believe I got taken hostage like that. I should have been paying attention." Tsuburaba bemoaned as, near the end, he was jumped by a villain with an electric quirk and couldn't do anything about it, only being saved by his adorable mushroom-loving classmate.

“Komori managed to handle the situation pretty well.” Rin pointed out that the girl was a little shy about the praise since she came in clutch.

"I had to be extra careful, though; I didn't want to kill him." The rest that heard it turned their heads in confusion, as that was strange for Komori to say. She wasn't violent, nor was her quirk too dangerous. What the hell could she have done to warrant.

Monoma patted her on the back. “And yet, you still managed to make the villain choke on mushrooms by making them grow in his mouth. That is why you're probably the second scariest person in class. A cute little mushroom, sure, but one that's tucked full of tricks and poisons." She seemed to pout at that, but her smile weakened her expression.

“Speaking of scary, what did happen with Midoriya?” Monoma asked as they hadn't seen any sign of him so far. Shiozaki, Shishida, and Tokage all looked uncomfortable, which wasn't a bad sign and was one the class easily picked up on.

“It’s not something we want to talk about. We’re just hoping that he recovers.” Tokage answered, worrying them even more as Honenuki and Tetsutetsu shared a glance, having heard the gist of how Midoriya was torn in two.

Their talk was cut when a police officer dressed in a fedora and beige trench coat, the stereotypical outfit for a police detective, approached them. He held a clipboard and looked them over, his gaze returning to the paper, which must have held their names and faces. They could also hear him counting under his breath, only stopping when he matched 19 of them to their information.

"It seems like the entire class is here; aside from the one that was taken away, no one seems to be seriously hurt," he told them.

"That's a relief. I have to admit that I got worried there." Kendo stated that, for the most part, they had scarps and bruises, but nothing that required them to see the nurse.

"Excuse me, sir, but Midoriya will recover, right? His injuries..." Tokage raised her hand, worried for her friend, as the detective gave her an encouraging smile.

"Don't you worry. I saw him as he was being taken out. I'll say he'll be back on his feet in a couple of days." He answered, seeing All Might taking the boy back to the main campus not too long ago. The man had been in a rush.

f*ckidashi and the rest who weren't present were confused by this and asked, with Honenuki filling in the same blanks, namely the fact that their classmate pulled out a trump card that they hadn't expected. “Wait, so that roar we heard was him?” f*ckidashi had thought that was Shishida or a villain.

"Yeah, it was quite terrifying but also overwhelming to witness such power," Shishida added.

“It did seem like using it burned through his energy as he lasted like a minute’s top before he fell over, passed out like an old drunk after one too many," Honenuki stated; as for all that power, Midoriya was like a firework, flashy and bright but short-lived. Tokage, still worried for him, stopped when she recalled that Vlad had told Hebimi.

“Was that what Vlad meant by holding back?” she thought aloud, speaking softly so as not to be heard.

“What about Vlad-sensei and Thirteen?” Kendo asked as those two hadn't been in great shape.

The officer's smile faded there as he relayed what he had been told to the students. "The doctors have only started treating them, but from what they've found early on, Vlad's bones in both forearms and leg were shattered, along with damage to his right elbow. That along with damage to his skull, but they're hopeful that none of it was permanent, but he will be on the bench for a while, even with Recovery Girl on call."

He continued. “As for Thirteen, her quirk was turned on her, so her flesh was torn from her body and arms, but there wasn’t any damage to her spine, or especially concerning nerve damage, so they'll say that she'll make a full recovery after some surgeries to graft replacement flesh onto her." He told them he trusted that the medical professionals could handle these cases. But there was a silver lining, thin as it was.

“All Might’s injury was the lightest, as the creature might have got is claws into him, but it wasn’t too deep. Recovery girl can handle him in house and he’ll be back to normal tomorrow or the day after.” He told them as the man barely looked slowed by the wound, though that meant that people saw the scar but mercifully, in his hero form, it looked much smaller then it was, appearing to be a old scar.

“What are the odds that we’ll all be thrown to the wolves and come out alive?” Kuroiro asked.

"The Odds had nothing to do with it. We worked together, fought hard, and sent those villains packing like the cowards they are!" Kamakiri replied as Kendo sighed.

"I'll hold on to the celebrations until Midoriya is here with us, then I can throttle him for making us worry," she told them, which brought out some smiles as they imagined how furious she would be when she got her hands on him.

‘Midoriya.’ The detective thought he was worried too, but for very different reasons, as he recalled what he had heard during the initial questioning of the students and saw the areas he had been in. The boy had gone on a pyro-fuelled rampage; that Nomu creature took the burnt of it, but it wasn't the only one as they found 2 dozen villains in the conflagration zone covered in burns that needed immediate treatment. Some had been close to the water when that steam explosion went off, and many had been seriously hurt and were in critical condition from being doused in boiling water.

He just knew that would spell trouble, both for U.A. and for the boy.
