I can’t stand the negativity y’all. People have been asking if we have a name. And I share it! Because I’m proud of it and it’s just so beautiful to me.
And 98% of people don’t like it. My sister in law straight up told me she didn’t like it today. My mom didn’t like it. Sister didn’t like it. Even the neighbor girl was like oh… and looked away. lol. She’s 10.
But still. I’ve had like 2 people say wow, that’s so pretty!
It sucks not having people supportive because I feel like I don’t like it when I hear them say the name now. It’s getting in my head. I don’t understand! It’s so pretty and unique!
Her name is Beija Linda
Linda is after my grandma who raised me.

I think it’s pretty and unique too!!! My middle name is Linda and that’s my mom’s name. I’ve had a similar experience lol. We are thinking about Silas Hope for our baby boy… I know Hope is feminine but it’s after my husbands mother who passed and I think it goes so nicely, especially since we have a very strong last name.

When we share a name before the baby’s here, people are less tactful. But it’s useful to know what the issue is & if it’s one you care about. If you still love the name, then use it. “Beija” in Portuguese is the verb “to kiss” so I wouldn’t use it; especially not when it’s followed by Linda which means “beautiful”. But it depends on your naming criteria. For me, it’s vital for a name to work in many countries (particularly in certain languages) so I’d need to find a new name. (I do like Bijou, though, which looks quite similar.) ❤️

Is it said like beige with an A at the end? I’ve never heard it before. Not my favorite but definitely not the worst name out there. We keep our name a secret until baby is born. That way nobody can give unwanted opinions.

I feel you, my mom said "are you sure? you've really decided on Alina then?" and proceeds to tell me she knows a little girl with that name who she doesn't like, so she can't imagine my baby with that name lol! I told her get her imagination started cuz it's been picked hahaha
